33 kV Gang Operated Air Break Switch
A 33 kV Gang Operated Air Break (GOAB) Switch is an outdoor, pole-mounted electrical isolation device designed to safely connect or disconnect a 33,000-volt distribution system or equipment (like transformers and overhead lines) from the power network. Mechanically linked as a "gang," all three phases operate simultaneously via a single manual operating handle, ensuring complete system isolation during emergency or maintenance routines. These switches utilize a triple-pole configuration and feature removable, rod-type arcing horns to safely interrupt the magnetizing current of transformers or small line-charging currents. Supported by highly durable porcelain or polymer post insulators, they feature high-conductivity copper alloy contacts and heavy-duty, hot-dip galvanized steel frames to withstand harsh outdoor environments
